I never for one moment thought I would be posting on this board today.
My Inga has been poorly since Tuesday ,after a visit to the vets injections etc the conclusion was her arthritis had had a bad flare up with the frost and ice we,ve been having  her age etc no better by Friday so doubled her medication just about been able to go out for wees etc, this morning took her out and when she got back in house she screamed with pain  and collapsed  we had another appointment for thursday but I couldn,t leave her like that so took her down the vets at eleven and after examination found her spine was damaged possibly tumour on it as well.
She was a perfect lady throughout I had the option of sending her for referral and spinal surgery in Cheshire but there would be no chance of a referral for at least the first week of the new year and my vet  as always was totally honest with me and said she may get six months from it if we were lucky.
No way could I put my gorgeous Shepherd girl through all that so I held her whilst she was given peace.
This is killing me writing this but I had to share it with other dog people.

Sharon, I am so sorry. You must be devastated. Your Inga didn't suffer long so you gave her the best gift you could - a dignified and pain-free end. Run free Inga.

Sharon,
My thoughts are with you today..
I lost my first Aussie to a spinal tumour and we too had the option of a specialist in Cheshire (he was the man who found the tumour). We decided against operating on his advice.... Like you, we would have maybe got 6 months, I couldn't put him through it.....

Run free Inga, free from pain.....
(((Hugs))), Gabrielle xxxxx

So sorry to hear of your loss.  It is obvious Igna had a wonderful and caring owner.  Sometimes the kindest things to do are often the hardest.
This is the last time I will allow you to take a breath from my lungs to fill your own.
