Max, my 'in laws' black lab was PTS today at the grand old age of nearly 15. He had suffered from no health problems at all throughout his long life, but old age had finally caught up with him a lot in the last couple of months.

What a good age. The thing is even though you know they can't go on forever it is very upsetting as they have been with you so long. He will be bouncing around with a new lease of life now with no creaking joints. I had the same thing with my old black Lab, 14  1/4, never had any real health problems and just literally went down hill overnight from old age. I like to think that she met up with her old friends.

A good age, my last two oldies that are at the bridge were weeks away from their 15th Birthdays.

My girl was pts just a couple months away from being 15years old.  It is never easy.  She too, went downhill really fast.
