We all take the best dog home.....
By supervizsla (****) [gb] Date 06.02.08 08:24 GMT
There is a quicker search now by google at the bottom of each page.
By LJS (*****) [gb] Date 06.02.08 08:33 GMT
But it is not CD specific is it ? Also you can't go into a users profile and select posts as it says the facilty has been disabled ?
By supervizsla (****) [gb] Date 06.02.08 08:39 GMT
Yes it is CD specific as it is a site search.

Its pretty good really
By jennyb59 (***) [gb] Date 06.02.08 09:17 GMT
but you cant put someones username in and search for any of their posts, or a word in to search for any posts with that word in...

Is it coming back I used it a lot to look for friends posts and different subjects that I knew had been written about before.??????????

We all take the best dog home.....
By rachelsetters (****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 09:48 GMT
must admit change is never easy but I too did prefer the ability to search by username - we also had the option to look at date ranges too?  now we get heaps of pages and alot very old - don't suppose some tweaking to add date ranges can be added?  or an advanced search facility so we can use username?
By Fillis (****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 09:49 GMT
Me too - it takes a lot longer to find what you are looking for :-(
By Missie (*****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 10:28 GMT
Yes, I prefer the older search facility. Some changes are good but looking for particular items is now taking too long.
We are like old dinosaurs here, soon we will be extinct ;-)

By LJS (*****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 10:35 GMT
Why not do the initial search then use the advance search facility then you can pin point what you are after :-)

PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE can we have the old one back ?!?!  I prefer the old lay-out .
By Blue (*****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 20:58 GMT
I thought the new one was good until I tried to find 2 things today .. jezz.. Not working as well as I had hoped.  Maybe we can have the 2 :-) that would make everyones life easy..
By perrodeagua (*****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 21:23 GMT
Gosh don't properly come on for 2 days and I have to say I don't like the new search facility.  It was so much easier when you could put a subject matter, or person and days to look from in there.

Don't worry you can now do that again, but you can only dredge up stuff from the last 180 days.

This thread really outed the stalkers :-)
By Lea (*****) [gb] Date 07.02.08 22:22 GMT
LMAO @ Mark, yeah can see it did :D :D :D :D :D

By zarah (****) [gb] Date 24.02.08 20:47 GMT
Can you no longer search for threads more than 180 days old?

ETA: Oh, just realised the Google search finds older ones!
By Astarte (*****) [gb] Date 24.02.08 21:34 GMT
after the random reapperance of ancient threads that cause trouble recently (the one the vampire person brought up about wolves or soemthing and the one about that mic bloke) not sure its good!
you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here
By zarah (****) [gb] Date 24.02.08 21:52 GMT
Oh, but there are some real gems from years back (members and threads :-D). I remember some particularly great posts on the Behaviour board about ways to train certain behaviours/commands etc back when I first joined when there were more gundoggy people around - wish I'd saved them all now as searching has proved mostly fruitless!
By Gunner (***) [gb] Date 07.03.08 11:59 GMT
Hi
Is there an archive or anything that can be accessed either via yourself or any other means to tap into the stuff that is older than 180 days?  Just that there are some right gems that you see and think 'right if ever I have that problem'........it just would save recycling some of the old favourite topics that I'm sure the experts on here must get sick of advising on time after time.

Cheers
Jan

But people can take offence to posts 2 hours ago :o
I was looking form something I postred when I first joined and couldnt find it :-(
If somoene wants to find something bad to dig out, then they will find it. I am positive the good things about the search facility more than so many days out weights the *********** that find something to dig at ;-)
AND there are so many people to report or mod thread then they dont stay up long LOL
Lea :-) :-) :-) :-)
(P.S REMEMBER everyone, you all have the IGNORE and REPORT facility :-) )
Lea :-) :-) :-)

Hi Lea,

>If somoene wants to find something bad to dig out, then they will find it

you and I are reading entirely different things from Gunner's post confused  I read Gunner's request to be re sourcing helpful info from previous threads which might be useful to link to rather than repetitive bits and bobs .....

Ergo your further comment of

>(P.S REMEMBER everyone, you all have the IGNORE and REPORT facility  )

has completely lost me LOL.
Why bite when a simple growl will do ;-)

If you use the Google site search at the bottom of the page it goes back further.
