hi ashleig, you can get a list of the breed clubs google easy peasy who will be able to put you in touch with people expecting litters. what i;d say though is find a line that suits you first- there are variations of type within breed and you;d be best figuring out what you want before grabbing one. for example in the breed we have (bullmastiffs) you can get several different sorts of conformation within the breed standard- the trend up here the last few years is for a shorter muzzle, which i don;t personally favour. breeders up here also seem to be going for a larger specimine of late (though still within the standard) to (which i do prefer)- see what i mean? (hope that made sense)- hep you choose colour etc as well as theres a big range in staffs
ditto temprement- if you spend time meeting the dogs that a breeder might produce a litter from you can try and find one that you think will suit your household. its never a guarentee that a dog will be like its parents but theres a good chance.
heading out to shows is a good way to see whats out there and to speak to breeders (i understand from the breeders on here that they are always happy to natter about their dogs if you show an interest). i think there are quite a few different shows in your area at various times- the staffy people will be able to tell you when and where- or crufts is on in a week and a half! (i'm going for the first time, so excited) the staffs are there on sunday (

i'm missing them). its a bit of a trek to birmingham but it's pretty reasonable to get in and every one says it's a brilliant day out
you are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here
