Hi , i have question to ask for a work collegue ... She is looking to buy a pup next year and she wants a dark coloured one ( not golden or tan as she puts it ) And she wants a docked tailed one ... Did not know much about this breed so said i would ask on here ... Are cockers still docked ? And is the chocolate coloured a fault or a recognised colour ( thats how she described the one she wants )Can anyone suggest a good website for cockers , she does not want one now , it will be next year . I would just hate for her to get ripped off by buying a dog she just wants as a companion , and being told it was a rare colour ....

They would only be undocked with a working certificate, which is unlikely for a show cocker.  Liver, as it always used to be called before other chocolate breeds took off, is certainly a permitted colour.  It isn't all that common but it should not have a "rare" price tag.  The best way to find a puppy is through the breed club

Lots of choice of colours in cockers :-)
