It is with deep sadness that Spendies went to Rainbow Bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was bright and full of life until a week ago when he started to get sick. The vet tried to treat him but he went downhill fast. We called the vet out on Saturday morning and he died in our arms at home with those that loved him around him.
We will treasure our memories and our pain. He will always be part of us; buried in our hearts.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you

Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. We received a lovely letter from our Vet today with a poem and some kind words about Spender. He has been a tower of strength.
It has been both a pleasure and an honour having Spender in our lives; his mission in life was to be a clown as he always made people laugh with his antics. I'm thankful that up until the end, he was still full of life and spirit at 13 years old.
It never gets easier losing our dogs when their time comes. It's the price we pay for love. We will do it all over again and we will never stop doing it because it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Run Free Spender...

Life Is For Living!
I am so sorry to hear about Spender. I always looked out for your posts because you were another 'shepherd' person! He looks a magnificent and beautiful dog. He also reached a good age for a shepherd, and so nice that he was happy right until the end. You cannot ask for more, except to meet him again one day, and I know you will. God bless Spender

So sorry to hear about your loss
(((((hugs)))))
