My 18 week old westie is a very active and noisy puppy and although he was his normal self last night, my fiance has told me that he has not been himself today. I know he is teething at the moment which is probably not helping.

At 8 weeks old when we got him he had to be put on Kohlin because he had runny poos along with some blood in it. The vet advised he had a lot of bacteria in his tummy and this would sort him out. It did and he has been doing well since then. The last couple of days his poo has had some spots of blood in them which is quite normal for him but he just doesn't seem himself. I've book him in the for the vet on Sunday as he is due to be wormed but just a little worried. His diet as remained the same since we got him and he gets treats for doing wees and poos on puppy pads and these haven't affected him before.

When he goes out walking he tends to be a bit like a hoover and likes to try and eat everything and anything so perhaps he has eaten something without me seeing. I'm hoping tonight that he will be his normal self and he is just suffering a bit with his tummy.

Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome.

He is probably just feeling a little bit low after losing a bit of blood each time he poos, even a little blood is a lot for a pup.  Even though his food has stayed the same it could be making the issue worse, maybe needs to be changed to a sensitive puppy type.  It doesnt sound like anything to worry about too much but glad you are taking him to the vets on sunday as he probably needs a once over to check everything is normal.

Yeah Vet said it was just a tummy thing and nothing to worry about. There was no blood when she did he's temperature up his bum so all good. He has got Kolin again which I haven't started him on yet as the poos are better at the moment. He is teething really really badly at the moment and wants mine and fiance's constant attention when we're at home and he is barking loads.

Vet suggested taking him to puppy training classes as he won't let us brush him and also is getting a bit boistrous!!

All is well though and he is fine in himself. Will be happy when his teething stops!
