Hi all, I have a vet appointment in a couple of days but wondered if anyone might know what this is? My Weim girl has quite red eyes, I bathe them with tea each day which helps a lot. I have also tried Optrex eyes drops on her which clears up the redness straight away. However, I am more concerned about her lower eyelid drooping down slightly which then exposes her eyeball to more dust etc which I think is causing the original redness. Does this sound like a specific condition or is she just sensitive? I have spoken to the vet about this previously and she suggested it was just sensitivity to dust. This was before her bottom eyelid started to droop! I have read on here that quite a few people recommend colloidal silver... would it be suitable to try in this instance? Thanks!

Personally I would be taking her to the vets, a Weim's eyelids shouldn't be droopy at all, so something would appear to be amiss and the vet is the best person to find out what and help fix it or control it ;-)

Thanks, will wait and see what the vet has to say!

Allergy to dust/pollen- nothing serious. Prescribed some eye drops and should see results in a couple of days.

Hopefully the drops will work quickly!

Thanks Dill. They are actually making her eyes quite red, but apparently that is ok and they should settle down very soon. Crossing fingers and toes!
