my friend has a 4 year old rescue american bulldog, hes absolutely fine in every aspect of his behaviour and in health seems great, its just recently i noticed his paws had gone from black to pink with black spots........hes at mine a couple of days a week when she works and he plays with my 2 dogs and we cannot work out why this is

she hasnt changed his food or any other habits and the only thing we have found about it says its normal for this to happen

it most probably is and we are worrying for nothing but it just seems strange how it happens to a 4 year old dog...i remember my 2 as puppies had pink paws but theirs are fully black now

was abit sceptical about posting in here but im hoping someone can advise as iv had no luck on internet or books

shes had him for 2 years by the way
the more i see of men....the more i love my dogs

Sounds like a seasonal depigmentation like winter nose in some gundogs.  I think it is probably linked to poorer than normal pigment to start with.

If there is no irritation or thinning then I would think them fine, but you could try seaweed and nettle supplements etc that are supposed to be good for pigment.
