I was just weighing up the pros and cons of having my girl spayed (I know there is an active thread on this subject so wont go on about that) During my investigations I find that my breed (Tibetan Terriers) are prone to anaesthetic idiosyncrasy. (having an abnormal reaction to anaesthetic) It has scared me to death. It seems it can be fatal. Does anyone out there have experience of this condition?

My girl's breeder is the wrong side of useless so am on my own really. I have contacted my breed club and am awaiting a reply from them. She, my girl, must have had anaesthesia when she had her hips scored and her puppy is now ten months old and will be having her hips scored when she is twelve months so will need to know she will be safe before I proceed with that. I will obviously check with my vet, when I have got over the shock, but would really appreciate any info anyone may have!!!

I think you have done right contacted the Breed Club.  They will be able to offer the broadest experience possible.  I would wait to hear from them before making any decision.

Yes, I think you are right. Thank-you. They will be up to their eyes with the breed club show at the moment, so will have to be patient.
