By HuskyGal (*****) [gb] Date 11.11.08 20:58 GMT
I'd like a 'seasonal' revel .... Trying to think what would be 'Christmassy'....Christmas pud flavour!

No, nothing alcoholic.  Alcohol spoils the taste of any food especially chocolate.

I do agree actually... I like both but seperately.

I'd rather they just added extra Maltesers !.
By Staff (**) [gb] Date 12.11.08 09:44 GMT
I love the orange flavour yum!  Yep my sister found a Strawberry flavoured revel in her bag the other day.
By Perry (***) [gb] Date 12.11.08 10:17 GMT
definitley bring back COCONUT
have to disagree with alcohol spoiling the taste of chocolate I LOVE the combination.

I think they should do a marzipan too yummy :-)
By Vanhalla (***) [gb] Date 12.11.08 10:36 GMT
Nooooo!!!!  I love orange best!  It always looks like a small planet to me (and like a Planet too - the Mars ones!).  Coconut was always my next favourite.  The coffee ones are awful - but I eat them anyway....

By Freds Mum (****) [gb] Date 12.11.08 11:29 GMT
Strawberry?? Thats a bit of a dissapointment. Although im not a huge fan of revels. I dont know anyone who likes all flavours (including me) so why would i by a packet when i cant enjoy every one?!! Im more of a minstrels or maltesers girl myself!!!
The more i experience men, the more i appreciate dogs.
By Carrington (*****) [gb] Date 12.11.08 12:51 GMT
I love the orange, :-)

Why haven't they done a lemon? Must admit I would definitely eat a whole packet of Bailey's flavour or mint.

Does anyone actually like the coffee? I've never met anyone that does, and boy do I love drinking it. :-D
By Vanhalla (***) [gb] Date 12.11.08 13:10 GMT
Perry, you can send me the toffee ones!
I used to eat a lot of Revels once, but the coffee ones put me off.  Love all the others, and have a special eating ritual for them - peeling the chocolate off and eating them layer by layer!  Yyuumm!  Yes, I am a chocolate addict.  No wonder I'm a size 20 :-(

No-one should ever dig into a bag of Revels that I am chomping through - I have a horrid habit of nibbling bits off the round ones to see which are orange, so I can save them all for last LOL.

Hmmm ... strawberry ... will have to investigate of course. Normally like coffee cream type chocolates, but not particularly keen on the ones in Revels, so a good eviction in my book.

well me and hubby went to bed with them and had a little competition as to who would find the first strawberry one, well, we opened the bag and each took turns in taking one, befor we knew it the bag was empty and none of us could tell wether we had eaten one or not,, so to be honest im not all that impressed, bring back the coffee,,,,
By maglaura (***) [gb] Date 17.11.08 13:16 GMT
Strawberry????  I thought it was apple flavour :-) it was revolting what ever flavour it was I love the coffee one and would eat a whole bag of them
By Whistler (****) [gb] Date 17.11.08 16:35 GMT
I liked spangles too, I woud buy them again.
By Whistler (****) [gb] Date 17.11.08 16:36 GMT
Picnic bars do they still do them? and snickers were Marathon bars. We (my brother and I ) were on about jamboree bags for 3d we really are old.....
By St.Domingo (***) [gb] Date 17.11.08 20:18 GMT
I think that there should be a campaign  to rename Snickers as Marathon and Oil of Olay as Oil of Ulay . I can only assume that the companies do this as cost cutting so that they can send the same boxes all over Europe .

Weren't Picnics and Lion bars quite similar ?
I love Star bars - anyone remember them ?
By lilacbabe (**) [gb] Date 17.11.08 21:54 GMT
Picnics have raisins and peanuts I think ?  and lion bars are wafer and caramel ?
You can still get Star bars but might be called something different.
Loved Old English Spangles and can you remember Texan Bars ? and Splicers ,they were a fruit chew bar with 4 flavours all mixed together .
Also why did they change the name of Opal Fruits to Star Bursts ?

>I love Star bars - anyone remember them ?

Star Bars are back in the shops again!

(Jif cleaner was renamed Cif. I still don't use the new names for any of them!)

Oh, and whatever happened to Treets? You could get toffee treets, or peanut treets (what do you do if you get a peanut stuck in your ear? Pour in some chocolate and it comes out a treat!), and one other. What was the third?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
By Isabel (*****) [gb] Date 17.11.08 22:56 GMT

> What was the third?

Wasn't there just chocolate treets?  Then they become Minstrels.

Yes , i frequently eat a Star Bar just to test the quality !
I have seen Treets around - maybe at Morrisons .
Do you remember Tutti Fruttis (?) you can buy those at Morrisons too .
I also loved Spangles and those green/white striped chewy mints -Pacers ?
By Whistler (****) [gb] Date 18.11.08 10:10 GMT
I think Lion bars are like Picnic bars anyone remember Tiffin bars. I agree re renaming what about Jiff its Cif now whats that all about!!??
By Lily Mc (*****) [gb] Date 18.11.08 10:38 GMT
I don't think Picnics ever went away, did they? They certainly still exist though, as I bought some for hubby's lunchboxes last week.

My fave choc bars growing up were secrets.

http://www.doyouremember.co.uk/memory.php?memID=4072

They were like a mouseey middle surrounded by thin whisps of chocolate strands. Beautiul. I want to start a petition to bring them back but not many remember them.

Bought some Revels yesterday, purely for research purposes you understand. I rather like the new flavour actually, although my one minor complaint would be that when you opened the pack it was quite a strong smell which overtook some of the other varieties. However, I bravely soldiered on ...
