Does anyone know of any good quality holiday cottages that will take 3-4 well behaved goldens plus their two owners,we have got one in exmoor one in Peak district & one in New Forest that we use on a regular basis & are always thanked by the owners for the excellent conditionin which we leave the places. We just fancied trying other parts of the country but any of the brochures that I have looked at you are lucky if the will take 2 dogs.

I have a Friend who always rented holiday cottages with a group of Friends with up to 20 dogs.
What they do is take references from the previous holidays to send t any place they are interested in and have had no problems getting in.
Barbara and the Grey Curly Tails.
check out www.forestholidays.co.uk. they have 3 sites incl. one near Bodmin in Cornwall and you can take 3 dogs max. We went there in May this year and it is absolutely brilliant for dogs and owners with loads of walks. They are Log Cabins in Woodland and you can opt to book one with Spa on Balcony. Would definetley recommend this to all dog lovers.

I don't know how many dogs are allowed in these
holiday lodges, all I know is that pets are allowed. Worth phoning to find out if you fancy some where different? The owner of these lodges also owns the cattery I work at occasionally!

we had a lovely holiday here about 5 years ago with 2 newfoundlands and a springer (on balance more hair and mess than 4 retrievers!). They were lovely people and there were plenty of pubs where you could have meals and the dogs were allowed in.

i know one near dartmoor that has a kennel attached thats big enough for 4.
am sure there's a similar post already and so will give same thoughts. try hoseasons -
http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/ they do have cottages etc that cater for dogs. cannot recommend a specific one myself yet as won't be taking our four legged friend away til next year.
would be interested to know if they are suitable for future reference though as we may be looking at the lake district next year for family break.
I reckon you couldn't find better than Hele Barton Farm near Bude in Cornwall.
http://helebarton.co.uk/ Beautiful area, Black Rock beach is great for the dogs, not sure what the maximum number of dogs would be we have stayed with 3.
A sandwich needs dog hair
Would you be willing to share the details of your New Forest one? We are looking to spend some time there next year and have just started searching. PM if you'd prefer, many thanks xxx
I'll put links up if I find anything

Thanks for that|Otterhound looks really good will add to my list.

Thanks Pinky just had a look at this one loooks really good will add to my list.

Thats great floozy haven't been to the lakes for years now we used to go to a lovely cottage in Coniston but they don't take dogs.

Hi dogs a babe have just looked up the place we use in the New Forest & it appears that she no longer has the cottage that we have rented on several occasions, only got 2 small ones now one doesn,t take dogs & the other only one dog so it wil be no good to me anymore & probably not to you either but it is www.greatwells.com and is in Burley. If you do find anyting else let me know as we love that area.

Thanks everyone else for your replies I will work my way through your suggestions & hopefully find some more good ones.

Just to add, if anyone does use the Invercauld Lodges and they quote 'The Cats Hotel' when booking etc. you will get a 20% discount.

Greenbank Cottages in the Lakes (few miles from Windermere). Take as many dogs as you like - seriously. Think she had 12 greyhounds in one of the properties in the summer. Lovely properties with private gardens and private woodland with agility obstacles.

Forget Love, I'd Rather Fall In Chocolate!

They look wonderful cocopop I have saved the details & they will certainly be in my shortlist, I definately fancy the lakes again.

Wow koolcad that is what I call dog friendly I only wish there were more places like that around, will certainly give them a go some time.

Have done the Thames before but don't think my girls would be to keen on being stuck on a boat (although we loved it ) they like to be out walking for several hours a day. I agree the scenery is great & you get to see places you would not otherwise know about plus all those lovely pubs.
